Let’s Get Real About What’s Going On
Hey Moonfam, it’s Jojo here. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how easy it is to lose touch with ourselves in today’s world. It’s like there are all these subtle controls shaping our thoughts and decisions, and most of the time, we don’t even realize it’s happening. It’s wild, right?
But you know what? Just like the moon—always there, even when we don’t notice—we have this quiet truth within us, a low frequency, waiting for us to tune back in. Today, I want to talk about how we can protect that truth, embrace who we really are, and find peace in the middle of all the noise.
Let me take you back a bit—growing up wasn’t exactly smooth sailing for me. My childhood was pretty rough. The adults in my life were dealing with drug and alcohol issues, and as the oldest sibling, I had to step up and protect my younger siblings as much as I could. But even in the middle of all that chaos, I always had this connection to animals, nature, and the magic in stories—especially Disney. Those stories helped me hold on to the light when things got dark. It’s funny how believing in the impossible made my reality hurt a little less.
Are We Giving Away Too Much of Ourselves?
Let’s unpack how the world quietly shapes our actions in ways we might not immediately recognize. I know you feel it too, Moonfam. The way information is fed to us, the way we’re nudged to think a certain way—it’s like we’re being pulled away from our true selves.
I want to ask you: How much of yourself are you holding onto? How much are you giving away without even realizing it? It’s so easy to fall into the patterns society sets for us, but deep down, we know better. We feel better. Our free will is precious, and it’s ours to keep. We’ve got to hold onto that and not let anyone or anything push us into being something we’re not.
Mental Health: Not a Luxury, But a Right
Let’s get real about mental health—there’s this false idea that peace is something only the lucky ones get to have, but I’m telling you, it’s your right. The world likes to make us feel like keeping our peace is some kind of privilege, something not everyone can access. But Moonfam, I want you to know it’s not a luxury. You deserve peace, no matter what.
When I was little, Disney was my escape. No joke. I clung to those magical worlds, and it kept me going. It helped me find a way to cope when my reality was rough. And you know what? That belief in something bigger, something brighter—it’s still with me today. It taught me that protecting my peace isn’t just something I want to do—it’s something I need to do. And you need to do it, too.
So, no more apologizing for guarding your peace. You’ve earned it. And it’s something we have to protect, no matter what the world (or our love ones) tries to tell us.
Reconnecting with Ancient Wisdom
Have you ever heard of the Akashic Records? Let me fill you in. If you’ve never heard of them, it’s basically this ancient knowledge that’s all about understanding who we are and how we fit into the universe. Sounds deep, right? That’s because it is. It’s this beautiful reminder that there’s more to life than what we see on the surface.
For me, my journey into understanding all this kicked off at the end 2019 right before Covid. When I had my first spiritual awakening it’s was so much darkness because I was experiencing a death of ego. If you don’t know what that is maybe we can talk about it more in an another post but that year changed me. Everything I thought I knew started to shift. It wasn’t like a light switch, more like a gradual opening, a deeper connection to things I had felt my whole life. I started to see how all the things I loved as a kid—nature, the moon, magic—were pointing me toward this deeper understanding of myself.
COVID was a unique time for me because my experience felt so different from what many others were going through. While there was immense suffering worldwide, I had this deep, intuitive sense that I wouldn’t face some of those same hardships. I believe we all carry that quiet inner knowing. Sometimes, it just takes a moment of awakening to recognize it.
Facing the Shadow: Let’s Get Real
So, let’s talk about something we don’t always like to face: the shadow. Yeah, the parts of ourselves we keep hidden or are maybe even afraid of. I know for me, as a kid, I said a lot of things that triggered the adults around me. I was just speaking my truth, but they weren’t ready for it. Over time, I learned to dim that light, to fit in with what was expected. But that’s exhausting, isn’t it?
As I got older, I started wishing for a place where I could be myself—like Hogwarts or something. A place where magic was real and where I could learn to embrace my power. It turns out, I didn’t need to go anywhere. I had that magic inside me all along.
Now, as an adult, I’ve fully embraced my spiritual practices, and I feel more connected to my true self than ever before. But getting here wasn’t easy. It meant facing those shadow parts of me, the ones I had pushed away. And it was scary at times, but honestly, it’s the only way to grow. You’ve got to look at those parts of yourself with love, not fear.
How We Can Protect Our Peace Together
Let’s discuss practical strategies for keeping our peace intact. I know life gets busy, and it’s easy to let things slip, but your peace is everything. Here are a few things that have really helped me stay grounded:
• Set Boundaries: You’ve got to know your limits and stick to them. It’s okay to say no to people or things that drain you. Your time and energy are sacred.
• Find Mindfulness Practices That Work for You: For me, it’s things like meditation, breathwork, or just spending time in nature. It doesn’t have to be complicated—just something that helps you tune back into yourself.
• Journaling: Writing things down has been such a powerful tool for me. It helps me see what’s really going on in my mind and heart, and it gives me a space to reflect without judgment.
• Cleanse Your Space and Energy: Whether it’s using sage, crystals, or just taking time to declutter your space, keeping your environment clear helps keep your energy clear too.
Wrapping It Up: You’re More Powerful Than You Know
Your voice, your truth—it’s powerful. Maybe you don’t realize it all the time, but when you speak your truth, you invite others to do the same. And that’s a gift. Protecting your peace, reclaiming your free will, embracing who you are—this is the path we’re all on together.
You’re not here to be perfect. You’re here to grow, to learn, to find your way. So don’t be afraid to show the real you, even if it’s messy sometimes. There’s so much strength in that. And remember, no matter what, we’ve got each other. We’re all in this together.
Love always,
Jojo
